Frequently Asked Questions

Sometimes yes and sometimes no. ROAR@Home has two goals: our mission is to democratize access to research-backed assessments and also continue innovating on the fundamental research base. In line with this mission, ROAR@Home will often contain additional assessments that are under active research (or longer versions of our traditional assessments). Whenever we provide score reports, the assessments are scored and validated the same way as the version used in schools. But ROAR@Home will often include additional assessments that are not yet in schools.

Yes! the ROAR Family Guide, Next Steps Guide, and Technical Manual all provide information on how to interpret the score reports as does the Video Guide to Individual Score Reports. Or see our complete list of open-access resources!

ROAR@Home requires consent from a parent or legal guardian. If tutoring organizations want to use ROAR@Home they must get parents to create accounts and parents are welcome to share score reports.

Yes! But they must have parents/legal guardians create accounts for their children. We require parental consent. But after a parent/guardian has provided consent, ROAR@Home can be completed anywhere and parents can share score reports as they see fit.
